PingSentry ("we", "us", "our") operates the website pingsentry.app and the PingSentry uptime monitoring service. This page explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
We keep things simple because we believe privacy policies should be readable, not a wall of legal jargon.
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (stored as a salted hash — we never store plaintext passwords). If you sign up for a paid plan, Stripe processes your payment. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full card details on our servers.
We store the URLs you add as monitors, check results (up/down status, response times, HTTP status codes), and alert history. This data is essential to providing the service.
We collect basic server logs including IP addresses, browser user-agent strings, and pages visited. These logs are used for debugging and security purposes and are retained for 30 days.
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. No data is sold to advertisers.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Period.

Monitor check data is retained according to your plan tier: 7 days on the Free plan, 90 days on Team, and 1 year on Business. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data and monitor data within 30 days. Server logs are automatically purged after 30 days.
All traffic to pingsentry.app is encrypted via TLS (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Database backups are encrypted. We follow reasonable industry practices to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

PingSentry is not intended for use by anyone under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or via a notice on the site. Minor updates (clarifications, formatting) may happen without notification. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
