Terms of Service

Last updated: March 26, 2026

These terms govern your use of PingSentry (pingsentry.app), operated by Cory Zilisch ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

Plain English wherever possible. No tricks.

The Service

PingSentry monitors the uptime and response time of websites and APIs you specify. We send alerts via email, Slack, Discord, or webhooks when your monitored endpoints go down or recover. That's it.

Your Account

You need an account to use PingSentry. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. If you suspect unauthorized access, email us immediately at support@pingsentry.app.

One person or organization per account. Don't share credentials across teams — that's what the Team and Business plans are for.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use PingSentry for legitimate monitoring purposes. You may not:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with notice when possible.

Plans and Pricing

PingSentry offers Free, Team ($12/month), and Business ($39/month) plans. Pricing and feature details are listed on our website and may change with 30 days' notice to existing customers.

Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel anytime — your plan stays active through the end of your current billing period. We don't do refunds for partial months, but we also don't lock you into annual contracts.

If payment fails, we'll retry a few times and notify you by email. If payment remains unsuccessful after 14 days, your account downgrades to the Free plan. No data is deleted during this grace period.

Service Availability

We aim for high availability but don't guarantee 100% uptime (yes, the irony of an uptime monitoring tool having downtime isn't lost on us). We'll do our best to notify you of planned maintenance in advance.

PingSentry is provided "as is." We are not liable for missed alerts, false positives, or downtime of the monitoring service itself. We're a small operation doing our best — not an enterprise SLA provider.

Data Ownership

Your data is yours. The URLs you monitor, the check results, and your account information belong to you. We don't claim ownership of your data. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle it.

If you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days.

Intellectual Property

PingSentry's code, design, branding, and content are owned by us. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the service. You're welcome to talk about us, screenshot the dashboard, and share your experience.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PingSentry's total liability to you for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption — even if we were advised of the possibility.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of PingSentry after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Termination

You can close your account at any time from your dashboard or by emailing support@pingsentry.app. We can terminate your account for violations of these terms, with notice when possible.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with applicable law.
